Hello all, I was picked up at the airport by Greg, Mary and Mom....... Mary went home and we went to Grants Pass.... Mom looks good physically... I think she lost some weight..... Dropped Greg and my luggage off and Mom and I went to lunch to JJ north to meet Dad.... Dad arrived shortly after we just got there and approached Mom with a beautiful lily from the yard for his lily....was very cute.... lunch was a little stressed.(but not too bad).... Mom with lots of questions and then gets very irritated if I would answer while she was asking a question.....she wanted DAD to answer.. tried to change conversation and she getting a little irritated... changing the subject she would say....went to see Dads spiffy new car while Dad was eating his dessert...... Mom doesn’t understand if he has money for a new car she knows he has money to pay for help to come in the house and help her stay with her husband....... on the ride back to Margaret’s lots of talking about who is making decisions and why hasn’t anyone asked her what she wants... She said she wants to go to heaven and asks God why He is doing this ..she wants to just be up there with Him if she can’t go home to her house with her husband.... Heather was doing Margaret’s hair when we arrived home so it is so nice to have different people come and go to visit and distract Mom.... Sue and Dave came up for a bit.... Then I took Mom for a walk.... Up the end of the block and then around the block and stopped and visited outside with the Allensworth gang..... Then around the corner and stopped and visited Sue and Dave outside while finishing dinner.... Back to Margaret’s then I went over to Dad’s to do eye drops and sleep..... Dad seems ok it will be anxious to see what doctor says... he and Sue going to appt at 1:30 or so today.... Dad said he was tired last night so didn’t want me to do anything around the house.... we visited about the pope and rosary etc.... than off to bed we went... now its time to go relieve Sue who had night duty last night and Dad duty today.... Margaret has 4 days of school left... till next time.....

Not a Harley though... no motor a regular peddling bike and than walks with Heather..... then her and Margaret come back we eat dinner than out for another walk on easy level street..... went to Sues visited about Dads eyes... gave Mom scoop.... she is going to surgery want to go home and be with etc....... goes up to Margaret’s because she insists on it and then when we return mad because we are keeping secrets..... tell her what we know.... have lots of long decisions on why she can’t go home its not fair etc.... we have all been there toooooooooo many times you know the routine... We let her call Dad... they chat for awhile... she ends up getting angry I get on other line cut in and he says bye... Mom throws phone Dad mad as?????????/@@@@@@@@@@@@@. We chat again and do another walk...... calms down after awhile back to Margaret’s and get packed to go to GP for eye drops and to sleep.... Dad very hungry after walking in backyard.... He is thoroughly enjoying Mary’s custard and muffins which he ate after walking and then continued to have applesauce and crackers..... chatted lots about the war and boxing..... at 11pm did eye drops and went to bed..... Is AM Tuesday I went to grocery store and going to do drops in a little while he will go swim today then off to RR to be with Mom and have a visit with my godson (the Daddy) and Crystal.... Sue did night duty last night I will be with Mom and have night duty for 2 nights... Margaret done with school Thursday......
Lots of decisions to make on daily basis... now that Dad needs daily help scheduling is difficult... Dave C doing eye drops every AM this week for Dad.... Greg watching Mom for 2 hrs today while I see Sean.... each day a challenge and stressful but seems to work its way out somehow.......
God has blessed this family for a very long time and will continue to do so and we come upon there daily challenges....... Keep praying

last night she was up quite a bit... sometimes you just quit counting...thought she was getting up about 8 and then she never came out of room till 10am............... wow.......... Sarah and Evan came over this evening and Grandma and Evan were trying to play racko... it was a crackup....... then trying to put numbers in order.... Evan and I were talking about school and he said he will be in kindergarten again this year because he doesn’t know his Mom or Dad phone number and Grandma said I don’t know my phone number either... so we all got a chuckle out of that. 2 observations: When you get Mom in car if only to go down the street to pizza or anywhere she always thinks she is going home and the questions begin......... not to say she should not go in the car but maybe just a heads up.............emailing info if great for those of us who don’t live here d but probably somewhat of a task for the informant.....

Albuquerque Glennon days 1 and 2........Got into town around 11a.m. on Wed. Got to see Carol briefly before Heather and Cheyenne took her away to the airport. Had a nice visit with them before they left for Medford. Had a lovely lunch with Grandma on the Cotner's porch. Patrick and Melissa were recruited as kitchen assistants and the fare was scrumptious! Very nice company and atmosphere eating on their front porch!

Jon took Danny, Patrick and Melissa out on the river for rafting/kayaking. According to both kids the trip was !Awesome! Melissa almost flew off the raft! They had never done anything like this before, and Patrick was quite the natural. They came home wet and wild!

Paula and Grandma had a nice visit with Sheila and Joey while they were at the river. Boy, is he getting big! He was into everything! Walking all over the place. Sheila looks great, motherhood certainly agrees with her. She had seen Heather's OB and he says to cut back her hours at Costco to 24 hr/wk. I think that is a great idea, sounds like she has been working way too many hours.

Dinner was served in the Cotner's backyard. Again, the younger Glennon siblings were recruited as assistants. Dinner was delicious and oh so nutritious! We got to visit with Sean, Crystal and Arri. What a little bundle!!!! And it was wonderful to see Sean and finally meet Crystal. After dinner everyone toured Dave and Susan's new RV (purchased earlier that day) Quite the rig!!! Got all the bells and whistles!!! Then Crystal, Paula and the Kids played several high stakes rounds of Rummy Cube (after slight adjustments to the rules to accommodate the rookies, much to Sean's dismay). It was a fun night for all and the Glennon family appreciated the good food and enjoyed the good company.

Grandma had a pretty good day with all the company. I thought she was in a good mood almost all the time. We did wear her out, but she mostly bounced back after a pre-dinner nap. Danny had night duty that first night. He was very good with his mom. Very patient, and helpful with her. Got up about 5 times, mostly between 11:00 and 2:00.

Up early on Thurs am for walk (Margaret, Heather and Paula). Quite invigorating (gorgeous morning) and tiring (Heather walks too darn fast for us!!!) Had a cup of coffee at Heather's and visited with Cheyenne and Ethan and Ellie. Met up with Susan and Melissa out walking on the way back. Danny and Patrick were off on a rigorous adventure to buy Great Harvest breads and groceries. Only got lost twice!!! (Pretty good). No big thing, since everything's soooooo close around here!!!

Paula, Melissa and Grandma hung out watching a great movie (The Scarlet and the Black, highly recommended by Susan) while the boys shopped/got lost and Margaret went to the Y for swimming and yoga. Then yummy lunch with Jon and tour of the Fire Station. Quite interesting and fun to get inside the trucks and ambulance. Jon sure knows his stuff!!!

Danny, Patick and Melissa are currently baking blueberry pound cake, Grandma is napping and Margaret has left to help set up at Heather's baby shower. Kathy will pick Grandma, Melissa and Paula up after work and drive us over to the shower. Looking forward to seeing her, just ran out of time (and energy) last night for a visit to the Allensworth house.

That's all for now, just saw the time and have to get all ready to go.
Love,
Paula

Well, we're home now. I'll try to fill in where I left off at Margaret's on Thursday. Kathy picked Melissa and I up for Heather's shower. Grandma was just too tired to go and we weren't going to push her. She ended up staying home with Patrick, Danny and Greg and watched the whole NBA Final Game. She had a good time with the boys!!

We had a really good time at the shower. Lots of people, good food and gifts to unwrap. I really enjoyed seeing the Allensworth ladies and meeting several of Margaret's co-workers. Caryn, Heather's mother-in-law, has a beautiful backyard out in the country.

Thursday night was a little rougher for Danny, up a lot. Grandma woke up Friday and ate about six of Danny's blueberry walnut squares. We had to finally hide them from her! I walked with Margaret and Heather and enjoyed more of Cheyenne's gourmet coffee. Then we headed up to Margaret's with Ethan for Danny's world renowned French Toast. Susan and Dave came over for a slice too. Joel came later and scarfed the leftovers. All gave rave reviews!

Margaret went swimming, to a friends and garage sale-ing. Danny, Paula and kids hung out with Grandma, Joel and Greg and cleaned a little and did a little laundry. Danny fixed strawberry and blueberry smoothies for lunch.

Glennon's went to Grants Pass to pick up Grandpa around 3:00 pm for the BBQ. Came back and learned how to prepare trout on the barbie. Thanks, Henry, for the great fish and great recipe ideas. The BBQ was a huge success, lots of people in and out and eating and visiting. Thank you, Margaret, for getting everybody together for us to visit with. Glennon’s took Grandpa to Fred Meyers on way home to pick up a few things. He took some of Danny's blueberry pound cake (another hit with the Oregon crowd) home to enjoy later.

Friday night was another rough one, Grandma up many times and very weak. She got up Saturday morning in pretty good shape and in a good mood and looking for those walnut bars for breakfast. Danny gave her a couple and hid the last couple for her for later.

We sadly said our goodbye's and headed north to Salem. It was a busy and fun 3 days. It was so good to see so many of you gals and guys (Danny told me to put that!) Hopefully we won't take 7 more years before we come back. Thank you! We love you!

P.S. I may not have everyone's email that usually gets these, so please forward on to whoever I missed that is in your family. Thanks!
